Winter to Spring

It's starting to feel more like Spring!

Days are longer and temperatures are warming up gradually.

The winter months have been a great time to prepare for the year ahead. Some people get excited about making New Year's resolutions. We use the months of January and February to discuss and finalize the plans we've been talking about all fall.

It takes extra work over the cold and snowy months to feed and care for the cattle. The best part of this is having the cattle close at hand to watch and enjoy. Speckle Park cattle are very docile except maybe when there is a new big bale of haylage in front of them.

They do love to eat!

When we weaned last year's calves in early November, we were really pleased with the their growth and consistent development. They have continued to do well over the winter. We have both bulls and heifers that we are offering for sale so if you are interested be sure to contact us.

Our thoughts are turning to Spring. We start calving early in March. We're all set for this exciting time of year. We'll be sure to update you in our next blog post!
